Job Introduction
We currently have a vacancy for a Technical Interface Engineer within our Completions \& Transitions team here at SCS Railways.
**About the role**
Supported by the Technical Interface Manager where required, the Technical Interface Engineer will take the lead on owning, managing and coordinating the external interface with the Euston assets and ensuring that good and timely communication is maintained at all times.
You will:
* Facilitate the identification by the SCS team and the Design House of the detailed interfaces
* Draw on the appropriate resource from across the SCS team and the Design House to ensure that the required deliverables are produced in a timely manner
* Own the Technical Interface Register for the technical interface and ensure that all technical interfaces are identified, tracked and closed out in line with the project programme.
* Ensure that outstanding relationships with technical interface are developed and maintained in order to support the effective progression and close out of the interfaces
* Contribute to the development and implementation of the required plans and processes to deliver the above
* Whilst the principal focus will be on the technical interfaces, where required the Technical Interface Engineer may also be required to support the Technical Interface Manager with the management of other Technical Interfaces on the

Main Responsibilities
* Contribute to developing, implementing and managing the Interface Management Plan from a Technical Interface perspective.
* Ensuring that SCS complies with the HS2’s, and all other relevant parties’, arrangements for managing interfaces and transition with other contractors, including establishing clear roles and responsibilities.
* Communicating interface issues and risks that will impact project delivery and identify mitigation measures
* Holding regular interface meetings with relevant parties to manage interfaces, meet programme milestones and mitigate risks.
* Updating the Technical Interface Manager on interface issues, produce weekly/monthly reports detailing interface issues that may impact the works and propose mitigation actions.
* Providing progress reports, including closure of mitigation actions
* Developing and maintain the Technical Interface Register for technical interfaces, and undertake regular reviews of the register with design, construction and lot teams
* Utilising the Technical Interface Register to classify and prioritize the identified interfaces and ensure that relevant Interface Control Documents (or similar) are produced in a timely manner.
* Assist in developing the use of appropriate technology including, but not limited to, BIM, GIS and IBM Doors to facilitate the effective management and communication of interfaces.
* Maintain an up\-to\-date Technical Interface Register and submit as required by the throughout Stage
The Ideal Candidate
* Appropriate technical qualification (Engineering)
* Project management experience
* Ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships and effective channels of communication
* Strong communication skills
* Technical Interface experience preferred but not essential in either a Construction, Rail or TfL Environment.
* Experience of solving problems in an engineering environment.
* Proven ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships and effective channels of communication in a pressurised and highly time sensitive environment

The Skanska \| Costain \| STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin\-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
