**About the Role**
We have an exciting opportunity for a **Senior Asset Engineer (Renewals \& Enhancements) (Track)** to join our team.
In this key asset management role, you will lead the determination and development of Track engineering requirements to support renewal, refurbishment and enhancement investment programmes. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you will help shape investment decisions, develop technical requirements and ensure the successful delivery of schemes that improve the safety, reliability and performance of the railway.
You'll provide technical leadership throughout the asset lifecycle, ensuring that engineering solutions align with Network Rail's asset policies, standards and long\-term strategic objectives.

**Key Accountabilities**
* Contribute to the development of route strategies and the prioritised workbank. Manage the inclusion of allocated items into appropriate programmes and monitor through to completion, including approval of programme changes. Determine and advise on the implications if work is not undertaken within the recommended timeframe, including impacts on asset measures and outputs.
* Lead the development and implementation of the Track renewal, refurbishment and enhancement workbank to deliver Network Rail's strategic objectives.
* Lead the specification and acceptance of renewal requirements criteria for Track engineering works, including design approval and any specific requirements associated with acceptance into maintenance.
* Following handover to delivery, support the development and implementation of projects to confirm renewal requirements are correctly interpreted, scope changes are agreed, asset management plan deliverables are achieved and schemes deliver their intended outcomes.
* Lead the provision of Track engineering input to enhancement projects, ensuring works are specified and accepted in accordance with company asset policies and standards.
* Identify issues of national significance and escalate to the national team where appropriate. Support the development and review of national standards relating to renewals and enhancements.
* Ensure accurate and comprehensive records relating to the existence, configuration and modification history of Track assets are maintained and accurately reflect their current "as\-built" status.
* Participate in investigations of incidents as required.
* Lead and participate in engineering verification activities in support of the verification programme.
* Contribute to the development and maintenance of Route Asset Management Plans.
* Carry out asset condition inspections to inform the Track asset condition database and renewals workbank.
Band 3C £55,596 \- £67,813 Plus an Inner London allowance of £3,270\.

**Your experience and skills**

**What We're Looking For**
We're looking for an experienced and proactive engineering professional who can provide technical leadership, influence investment decisions and work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
You will be comfortable analysing complex engineering challenges, developing practical solutions and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver successful asset management outcomes.
**Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications**
* Incorporated Engineer.
* Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent.
* Membership of relevant professional institution.
* Substantial Track engineering experience, particularly related to renewals and enhancements.
* Holds relevant professional licences and technical qualifications, or capable of achieving within reasonable timescales.
* An understanding of policy and technical, safety and performance standards relating to signal engineering.
* Holds valid UK driving licence, or eligible and willing to obtain.
**Desirable Skills, Experience and Qualifications**
* Chartered Engineer.
* An understanding of safety management systems and risk assessment techniques.
* Knowledge of investment processes and procedures, including relevant computer systems.
* Experience in the integration of complex engineering systems.
* Knowledge of project management techniques.
