The Vanier Centre for Women, Ministry of the Solicitor General, seeks an experienced Receptionist/Mail Clerk to provide mail services for the institution.
**About the job**

In this role, you will:
* process all incoming mail by sorting into delivery locations or pre\-determined categories;
* process outgoing mail by sorting, weighing and metering in preparation of delivery;
* process offender mail in accordance with ministry policy and directives;
* process courier deliveries, complete waybills, manifest and custom forms;
* perform a variety of administrative tasks;
* provide back up support to the Receptionist.
**What you bring to the team**

### **Mail Knowledge and Skills**
* You have knowledge of Canada Post products and services.
* You can use the postage machine and scale to weigh and affix correct postage.
* You can interpret and apply ministry policy and directives regarding offender mails.
### **Organizational Skills**
* You can prioritize and organize tasks to ensure work is completed in a timely manner.
### **Analytical, Reasoning and Problem\-Solving Skills**
* You can identify incoming and outgoing mail for sorting by destination, method of delivery or other category (e.g., courier, etc.).
* You can ensure that mail is properly weighted, metered, folded and inserted into envelopes and sealed securely.
* You can determine the correct destination of incorrectly addressed mail.
### **Oral and Written Communication Skills**
* You can communicate effectively in person or by phone when providing information on mail and postage services.
* You can complete waybills and manifests for outgoing courier shipments.
* You can use tact and courtesy when dealing with staff on mail and courier related issues.
